Rendezvous 2013

Thanks for the updates and the list. Our boat is actually named Coyote Blue (not Blue Coyote).

Our registration site is up, tested, and ready to go. Here's how it works.

Follow the link and start by indicating the number of crew members attending. When you click Continue you'll be asked to provide contact information for registration purposes, as well as info for each crew member attending. You'll have the opportunity to purchase meal tickets for unregistered guests. And, let us know what day you'll arrive. We will handle reservations for Thursday through Saturday nights. If you plan on arriving before Thursday, or staying beyond Sunday, make reservations for your boat for the extra days only.

Payments are made via Paypal to Fluid Motion (Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats) who are making this possible by setting up a special event account. You can pay with a credit card or, if you have one, a Paypal account.

We are hoping to go to the Rendezvous but it brings up a question for us. Since we will be trailering a boat to get there, what are provisions for leaving a vehicle and a trailer at the port? Also, I have never had a sling launch of boat before. Is this a problem for a r25sc? Anything I should know before I show up? Like where the slings should be to support the boat etc.? I am hoping to bring the boat to kent to have Ranger inspect/fix the rear thruster, (not working), prior to the gathering so I want to get as many concerns as possible out of the way before getting started.

Swims and Tuna:

You can keep your truck on the gravel city lot behind the marina...no charge. We stored our trailer at North Harbor Diesel for $25 per month and launched from our trailer at their sight. Their phone number is 360-299-1907 and ask for Dianna.

I just tried to register online and the pull down menu that allows you to select number of crew members only shows "Not Available". Can someone let me know what I am doing wrong? I know it was working at one time as I sent a message asking if I needed to register our son.

My configuration mistake. Darn thing did what I told it to do instead of what I wanted it to do. It's fixed now. Thanks for your patience.

Register here.

Thanks,

Bruce

140 folks on 74 boats are registered! See you on the docks. Plus the complete factory boat line-up and team!

Wow... Well done Bruce, Meeting committee & Ranger Tugs and others presumably.

That's quite a revenue stream for Anacortes and sundry meeting facility costs/fees etc.

Cap Sante docking fee per day for an R-25 with overall length of 27' is $37.75 and includes 30A shore power.

Assuming 80 boats for three nights at $40-average/night and 140 paying attendees...

140*45 + 80*40*3 comes to around $16,000.

Looking forward to seeing the other 73 boats and the RT factory boat line up. 😀

Lady Di will not make it till Friday afternoon due to another schedule change. We should make port around 4 to 5 PM Friday afternoon. I have updated the registration accordingly.

Hi folks - the reminder email many of you received this morning shows the time and day the entire event starts. It's not the time and day we expect everyone to be arriving. Thanks to those who emailed me to restate their schedules. Really glad we won't have 70+ boats all arriving at the same time!

Cheers,

Bruce

For those not familiar with Cap Sante Boat Haven, here is a link to the marina map. We have the entire C Dock reserved. Even numbers are on the South side, odd numbers on the North side.

Remember to hail the marina on VHF 66A as you approach the breakwater for your slip assignment. If you're following another Ranger Tug in the channel leave some space so we don't have boats holding station inside the breakwater.

Thanks,

Bruce

Time: 0750 hours, Thursday Sep 5, 2013.
Getting ready to leave here in Edmonds... weather looks kind of nasty with a light wind, drizzle/rain increasing and a chance of Thunder/lightening etc as the day progresses. It looks like we have light wind from the south at around 6 to 8 kts at this time. Hope others making the trip up to Cap Sante fare well. Depending on sea/weather conditions I think I will make it a fast trip to get ahead of the weather deteriorating.... Expect to enter the Swinomish Channel entrance to La Conner at around 3pm with increasing tide at around 5 feet (low tide is 1.14 feet at 12:12pm). See you all there.

[EDIT]
Weather at Edmonds is just plain nasty. VERY heavy rain, Thunder&Lightening, low clouds, some wind, poor visibility... we're holding at the Edmonds dock at this time waiting for a break in the weather hopefully... deciding to boat up or drive up ????????

Called Cap Sante and weather there is better at this time. Ann Cox told me there were about 5 boats arrived yesterday... and more today presumably.

Bruce Moore/Vicki boated up yesterday which was actually my plan also but got nixed by 1st Mate and family schedules. Texted Bruce/Vicki and they gave me some assurances and weather conditions.

later....

It's spooky with lightening touching down to the water... Not good at all. Forecast is for this to continue through Fri noon.

The Rendezvous 2013 has officially started with Happy Hour and Pizza dinner last night. Nature put on a spectacular light show just for us after dinner. Willie has started taking pictures and I have set up an album for viewing them. Only about 8 shots from last night, but more will be posted today...check back and stay tuned.

Ranger and Garmin people are working hard to make sure our Tugs are ship shape. Willie's Tug just had an issue with the Chart Plotter not coming on as designed. Turned out the Radar cable was bad. The Garmin rep. gave me a new one and I started to change it this morning. A crew of Ranger Tug guys took pity on me and took over the job. What great service. The cable is changed and all buttoned up again. Everything now works like it is supposed to. Many thanks to the great Ranger Tug Team.
