The Laurie Ann did 1,600 miles of the Great Circle Loop over 90 days last September, October and November. We did the Mississippi/Tennessee River/Tenn-Tom Waterway from Iowa to Mobile Bay in our Ranger 25 and we loved it! We intend to pickup the Loop again in the Fall and will likely be in the Southeast over next winter. The great plus for the Ranger 25 is the ability to pick up the boat and move it as necessary. We took the Laurie Ann from Seattle to Iowa, pulled it when Hurricane Ike closed the Mississippi River and stranded other Loopers in marinas throughout the Midwest, and then took it back home again.
We have written an account of our adventures that will be published in the BoatUS Trailering Magazine in the April/May 2009 edition that is being printed now.
We know of another Ranger 25, the Pookie II, is doing a portion of the loop right now in Florida and perhaps Evan and Pookie will add to this thread.
There is much more say about this with lessons learned and things not to miss. However, the main message is that Ranger product can easily and comfortably to the Loop.
