I recently purchased an R29 and now find the stern thruster to be inoperable. The motor runs but feels like the prop is not turning hence I believe it is a shear pin issue. Could this be caused by rapidly changing directions without pausing and where can I get step by step discription of the required correction? Thanks. Jerry/ Joint Venture.

I recommend that you call or email Andrew at the factory. He is a wizard in all things Ranger Tug, and I'm sure he can advise you.

By the way you may have received a spare shear pin with your boat. Mine came with a spare in a small zip-lock bag. Pin is brass and less than an inch long by about 3/16" wide. My understanding is that they are easy to break if prop is fouled by marine growth. I do not know about reversing directions. There have been previous posts. Forward unit is easy to get to & after unit is hard.
