I have the “r2.0” issue with my inverter/charger and it looks like it needs to be replaced. I have a model number for the Kisae as IC122055, a 2000W/55A unit. Has anyone replaced theirs with anything else other than this? Also, where is the inverter/charger on this boat? I have seen reference to it being in the port lazzarette, but I do not see it anywhere in there. Am I missing something or is it elsewhere if you have the ice maker on the boat? Thanks!

I have the same model boat but 2017. The inverter is mounted on the wall under the starboard hatch in the cockpit. I replaced mine a few months ago and it's straightforward. I replaced with the same model. PM me if you'd like to talk through it.

Ok all--a follow up on this. I was unable to order the direct replacement unit as they are out of stock pretty much everywhere and would not be back in stock until September. I cannot wait that long with no A/C power, so I bought another unit from MasterVolt and installed it today. All works great, with the exception that I was unable to use the remote control cable already in place, and must use the cable that came with the new unit. I need to fish that cable through from the mid-berth control panel over the bed, down into the starboard lazzarette. Anyone done that fun exercise before and have any tips? I was going to tape the new cable to the old one and just pull it through, but the old cable is zip-tied into the wire bundle all the way forward in the storage lazzarette to where I cannot reach it to cut the cable ties. Maybe using a fish for other wire feeds? anyone have luck or trouble with that method? Thanks!

You may have already figured this out, but if not: The teak trim that runs the length of the midcabin mattress along the Starboard side of the boat comes out with the removal of just a few screws. Once it is removed, the fabric covered panel along the back of the midcabin just under the electrical panel comes out with a little wiggling effort. Access is much improved for running wiring once these two panels are removed. (At least that is how it is on our 2021 model R29S)

Thanks for this. I did start removing the teak trim to route the new cable to where the old control panel was, but then I noticed I could go up from the lazarette into the storage locker following the sam path as the step light wires, then just made a little route from the locker into the back of the mid cabin berth. So the control panel is now on the side where the electrical panels and power switches are, but all is well and working great. Thanks!

Do you have the Maste volt model that you purchased? An optional part number for the Kisae charger/ inverter that seems like a nearly a direct (or a least basic) replacement would be good to have written down in this thread.

Thanks!!

Sure. I bought the MasterVolt PowerCombi 12v/2000W 100A 120V Inverter Charger, Part #36212000. The Ground cable connection point is on the opposite end of this charger compared to the Kisae, but there is enough cable to pull it over and connect it. This unit costs about twice what the Kisae does, but it seems to have a really good reputation, double the warranty period, higher Amperage, and ability to have a 20A secondary charge circuit active, and more options to customize setup via the remote controller, or by hooking up a laptop to it or manually configuring jumper switches for adjustments. I'm only a few days in, but so far, so good.

Also, there is a "kit" option to purchase that includes the Remote Controller and a battery temperature sensor. It is a better price than buying just the inverter and adding the remote control separately. If you see two prices about $100 apart that look like they are for the same unit, the higher price is likely the kit option, so read the details carefully on the one you may order. Also, this unit is network compatible if you have a need for that, and the right connection capability. I haven't connected the battery temp sensor yet--that's a project for another day....

I am getting a r1.9 code. The inverter seems to have died. Does anyone know what r1.9 means? I have a 2017 R29CB and it seems like a short life for an inverter/charger.

I believe this has basically the same significance as the r2.0 code. It is not an error code but the revision version of the firmware installed on the remote pad (one revision earlier than 2.0). If it stays on, it means that the remote panel is receiving no input from the inverter/charger. Apparently this is a pretty good indication that the unit is dead.
