Just reinstalled the two teak doors to my bait well again today after refinishing them again. They still look a bit tired. I'm tired of dealing with them.
Then I saw that someone (initials ND) with a RT25 Classic had done this in November, 2017:

This was purchased at Boat Outfitters. If this was you, are you happy with the result? Does the big single door provide easy access to everything inside? We store a lot of equipment under there.
Have others done something similar to replace the stock teak doors?

PS: Also saw this posted on Tugnuts for replacement doors on a RT29 Classic that more closely matches the stock configuration, just everything in starboard:

Mine are "scheduled" for replacement as well. Refinished them once and never again. The only logical place for wood on a boat nowadays is inside out of the weather. I'll be going with a single door in order to provide better access to the steerage space when needed. Every spring I have to hire a twelve year old girl to grease the rudder post. My shoulders won't fit through those darn doors.
 
You need to send that 12 year old to Boat Mechanics School...Properly trained she'd make more than a school teacher, Nurse and most Lawyers. Boats are known for lack of access, Young Ladies have the physical ability to slither in and out of these tight cramped spaces...

I changed out the teak doors for starboard ones in my R29 Classic. They always look great and are maintenance free.

Be sure to to take accurate measurements and you will be happy with the end result. Easy installation. Comes with stainless piano hinges and locks.
 
Installed the new bait well door today. The old teak doors are history. Very pleased with the quality of the new door and the install was pretty straightforward. More pics in my sub-album Owner Mods. Ordered the new door from Boat Outfitters.

Hint - take the old teak doors out and THEN measure the opening. I thought my ID and OD measurements were accurate but the door ID ended up being slightly small for the opening. With 0.75" of frame overhang on each edge the install still looks perfect!
 
I saw your post of last May on Tugnuts. I have been dissatisfied with the look of the teak doors on my 2009 RT25 classic. This seems like a good replacement. Was the replacement easy? Charles Dykman, Honeybear, cpdykman@gmail.com
 
The replacement took about 4 hours to complete. It was pretty easy, just not fast.
The bait well inner section comes out after removing a few screws on the top.
Then you take the teak doors off and tackle the teak frames. They are bolted AND glued in so it takes some effort to unbolt and pry them loose. Next saw out the center fiberglass strip between the two door openings.
The biggest time is spent cleaning up all the leftover glue off the exterior fiberglass around the edge of the opening. I used 400, then 600, then 1000, then 1500 grit sandpaper followed by polishing compound to clean things up.
Putting in the new door is easy just 12 SS #10 1.5” bolts, SS fender washers and SS nylon lock nuts not supplied with the door.
A single big door was much less expensive than two smaller doors. Access to inside is better with a single door anyway. Get White-White color for the best color match. I got Artic White which has a very slight tan in it.
My actual opening measurement with the doors removed was ID = 29 3/4” (w) x 14 3/16” (h) but that probably varies a bit between boats. You want your new door built with at least 1/8” smaller width and height ID than the opening.
As I said earlier, I’m very happy with the results!
 
Quick question. Is this hinged on the bottom? or is li like a hatch that opens and is removed?

Mine was ordered with the SS hinge at the bottom. You could order it with the hinge on top if you desired - they offered methat choice. The two non-locking latches were mandatory given the door size and are easy to use. Locking latches were an option. They have several different latch finishes available.
You would need to talk with Boat Outfitters about the feasibility of a side hinge or about a no hinge option.

Thanks, I was worried about laying on it(door) when it was open and working in the space
