I have a Kenyon butane stove that was the original stove in a 2010 21EC. It has actually not been used by the first owner but it is leaking when I load canisters. What would be a direct (or close) replacement for that stove that allows the guest seat to be used and pretty much fits the old cutout.

Thank you,
Harley

Hi Harley,

We use a butane stove on our R23 and you could check with parts on availability by email at parts@rangertugs.com. Here is a link to the one we currently use, https://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/B61144.html, you can also wire it in to work on shore power. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

About 18 months ago I noticed the butane canister didn't seal when inserted. Contacted Kenyon and at that time they offered to refurbish the stove for $125 or so. Had that done but didn't have a chance to try it before I sold the boat. My problem was that I had left the canister in the stove instead of removing it after use and the seal failed.

I forgot to update but the stove was repaired by Kenyon. I sent it in for refurbishing. Price was reasonable.
All works well now and i will make sure to remove canister and keep seal lubricated from now on.

I use a butane stove and cook in the cockpit on the engine cover. Put a plastic cover over the cushion and do all prep work and cooking there. The small stoves are around 30 dollars, Martin and Coleman each make one.

Don't have a R21 but like Pilotnavigator I prefer to keep the smells, heat and moisture out of the cabin. Welded some 1" box(to act as fiddles) on a piece of aluminum checkerplate. Use the doghouse for a table.

I recommend the Martin 404 infrared burner. A few $ more than the cheap ones but worth it. Seems like the infrared burner is a safer option than the open flame type and I have not had it blow out from the wind like others always did.

Has anyone just removed the in-cabin stove and converted the space to storage or another use?
