The spotlight on 2015 C30 S is severely tarnished and has moisture inside the lense. I contacted the manufacture and they have agreed to replace it.

My question is, how do I remove the existing one? Are there fasteners on the top under the rotating light that can be accessed or do you have to access it from inside the salon. Please advise.

Thanks

Brian,

You would have to access them from the inside of the boat. If you drop the center wood panel in the cabin it should help you gain access to them or able to see them. You may need to drop down the ceiling panels as well, once you are able to locate the bolts it should be straight forward from there. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

To remove the spot, you take it off from the outside. I don’t recall exactly, but there is a hiding screw at the base which tensions the spot on its mounting plate, which is screwed through the roof. Loosen this and the spot assembly comes off.

There should be no issue with reusing the same mounting plate, so no need to take it off.

Look online for the instructions or call the manufacturer.

I replaced my spotlight without going from the inside.

The new one won’t last long either. I made a canvas cover for the new one and sealed the wire penetration hole, into both the roof and the spot. This at least kept the condensation out, and the plastic lens from yellowing, but the light is plastic and the chrome plating still “cracks”, just at a slower rate.

Simple job. Good luck.

Thanks

I plan to take it off this weekend. I may actually replace it with a white one rather than the plated plastic.

Again, thanks for your assistance.

Brian
