Replacing VHF on R23

My new 2019 R23 comes with the Standard Horizon GX1700. I was wondering how difficult it will be to replace the GX1700 with the Standard Horizon Matrix GX2200 as it has an AIS receiver built in. This is an upgrade I would do.

The VHF pulls right out, straight up. Might have to use a small pry tool. The hole size would be the only issue. If the new VHF is the same size it'd be a drop in.
 
Sounds great. Basically the same radio but the 2200 has a built in AIS receiver I'd like. I have the mounting template; I'll make sure it's the same cut-out as the existing 1700.
 
I am surer you can find and installation manual on the internet for each. Check out the templates to see if they are the same.
