We have an AB 9UL aluminum RIB mounted on the special Ranger Tug model of the Weaver davits. The combo has worked quite well for us. When leaving the Tug, I drop the dinghy and load the passengers before unattaching the davits, due to minimal dinghy motion. When we return to the Tug, I pull the dinghy along side the swim platform and step onto the swim step, holding the dinghy tight with one foot. I reattach the davits to the dinghy before letting passengers disembark. I can pull the dinghy upright on its side without assistance, but it is a hard pull. I also made a two-part tackle that attaches to the Bimini top frame that makes the lift easy, but takes more time to set up. Beware not to let the stainless steel yokes on the dinghy rub on the Tug's gel coat or you will find a lot of scratches in your gel coat if the yokes protrude past the side of the dinghy.
