I have a D4-300 and found myself quite confused by the maintenance manual with respect to the Reverse Gear, including the reference to "Oil Och Filter Change". Anyone know what "Och" means?
After re-reading the maintenance schedule a bunch of times, I have concluded that there is no need to change the fluid in the reverse gear according to any set schedule. The only routine maintenance listed is to clean the Reverse Gear filter every 200 hours. I am choosing to simply replace the Reverse Gear filter every 200 hours (which requires topping off the fluid a bit).
However, I would feel better if someone from the Factory would confirm that this is the right interpretation of the Volvo Penta D4 manual.
