Good morning all.
Just plugged into shore power at Friday Harbor. The reverse polarity light came on what our the concerns or problems I may encounter? Thanks

If you've hooked up to shorepower elsewhere without the reverse polarity light coming on, try connecting to another shorepower pedestal to see effects. If no reverse polarity light illuminates, I would request another slip.

This has happened to us at Friday Harbor several times in past seasons. As mentioned above, try a different power pedestal. If you don’t get a reverse polarity from the different pedestal, call the office to report the bad pedestal. They have an electrician on staff who will come down to make repairs.

That is a very dangerous condition! I would try another power station. The easiest thing to do is break out your meter and test the plug. If my reverse light came on I would disconnect ASAP. Your looking at shock hazard.

Switch pedestal all good. Reported problems to the marina office. Over and out...Ourgoknot

Glad to hear you solved the problem.
In our experience this problem is somewhat common in the PNW. Worst marinas are Friday Harbor, Ganges Marina and John Henry Marina in Pender Harbor, BC.
After a dozen or so of seeing this problem I always assume it it the marinas power pedestal. That’s the first thing we change and almost always solves the problem. Occasionally, it’s more than just one bad pedestal. It’s never been the boat!!

On occasion, I have found the reverse polarity light on, I'll go and wiggle the shore power connector and the boat plug and the polarity light goes out.

Not sure if all Ranger Tugs are using Blue Sea but that is what our R25 has. I had this light come on when I plugged in at home using the 15 amp cord. Knowing my wiring was good it was surprise. The blue sea system looks for a couple of conditions- true reverse polarity - but also looks to ensure the neutral is properly referenced to ground. Shined up my cord ends and all is good. So it appears a bit of corrosion on the cord end was the only problem. I carry a little plug in receptacle tester ($15) that I can easily plug in to make sure all is good before connecting. Shows all the various problems that may be encountered.
