I came to my R31 today and the shore power needle was in the off position and the red reverse polarity light was on.
I unplugged the shore power and tried again but same result. I saw some posts about this issue but mostly referring to generators. I do not have a genset, so can you help.

My 12 volt system works fine and the battery charged up while we were underway on a short dinner cruse this evening.
On returning to doc, same result when I plugged in to shore.
Can you help me with this issue.
Thank you,

Sounds like you may have an issue on the marina side. Has anyone else said they have and issue? Did you try plugging in to another pedestal?
If you get one of those reverse polarity testers , and have an adapter from 30 amp to 20 amp, I would then test the polarity right at the pedestal. The marina may have lost a ground in their system.
Can you explain more about your shore power switch? What do you mean it was in the off position and when you got back to the boat? As far as I know that is just a switch , it is not a breaker. And what does after your short cruise, same result when you plugged in.

Thanks for this. I will try another pedestal. What I meant was that upon arriving at the boat, the shorepower indicator gauge showed there was no power coming in. The house battery seemed depleted and the fridge was not working.
I did not notice if the polarity light was on then.
I ran the boat for about 2 hours in the evening and upon arriving back at the dock and plugging in, there again was no current coming in via shore power. It was then I saw the red reverse polarity light on. With the engine running all 12volt systems worked fine including the fridge.
Thanks for your suggestions
