Hi Gang,
What’s the wisdom in our group on the best cleaner to get exhaust stains off the inflatable RIB tubes? I noticed yesterday mine is due for a good cleaning.

Cheers,
Mark

I also use a magic eraser but instead of using it with just water I spray it with the cleaner in this duo:

Simple Green also works but I think the West Marine product works a bit better.

Work the cleaner in first to loosen the stain a bit and do the heavy work with the magic erasure. It also helps to wipe off any residue immediately with a clean rag. Do one small section at a time. When finished apply the West Marine protectant which helps reduce the work the next time (a little bit at least!).

We have had good results using Barkeepers Friend.

Try gojo hand cleaner. It's a cream that you can leave in place to work away at the grime and it worked well cleaning our second hand achilles.

I recently tried a white wall tire cleaner (Westley Bleach White) with a scrub pad, worked great.

I’ve used most of what has been mentioned and they all work up to a certain point of dirtiness. If your dinghy has exhaust stain like mine had I recently had s great experience with Marykate’s Inflatable Boat Cleaner, made by CRC Industries. I think it did a better job for my dinghy’s condition, with less work. It looked new again.

I agree with rackline. GOJO citrus hand cleaner available at most auto parts stores. Rub it on, let it sit for 5-10 minutes and rub it off and dingy is like new. It also work great on brass. Put your porthole rings in a bowl and let them soak for a few hours and with light rubbing the brass shines like new. Also, works great removing asbestos dusk from car wheels. It is like WD40, so many uses.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Mark
