I’m curious what the specs are for the factory RIB Dinghy option?
Length?
Beam?
Weight Capacity”
Dinghy Weight”
Height above waterline?

Thanks

I'm surprised no one has answered you yet, so I'll try with what I can. I have a 2017 R-27 with factory RT260 RIB. I don't know if Ranger Tugs still sells this Chinese model, but here goes:

Length?: 8'6" (as advertised, needed for towing on swim platform davits).
Beam?: 56" including rub rails (as measured by eyeing tape measure).
Weight Capacity: 3 persons or 495 lbs. 805 lbs. persons, motor, gear (per nameplate).
Dinghy Weight: Idunno, somewhere around 100lbs maybe (it's Hypalon with fiberglass hard bottom = heavy if you gotta carry it any distance).
Height above waterline?: Idunno, varies depending on loading, ~15" diameter tubes (as measured).
Draft: Shallow - use short shaft motors (per broken prop pins 😱 ).
Motor: 6 HP (per nameplate).
Max engine weight: 66 lbs. (per nameplate).

I used my calibrated eye and tape measure converted from SI units to English inches, so take each measurement as an approximate conversion. Hope this helps you with your comparisons.

Hi Dan,
I sent you a PM with some of my thoughts regarding the RIB that RT supplied with my R29 Last year. Bottom line, I don't have the dimensions off hand, but I see it as a pretty quality unit. I have used mine some...including less than pretty beaching's - and it seems to be doing pretty well on the wear side - it still looks new. I did have to top up one tube this spring after no use all winter, but it wasn't flat by any means... just low enough to see the davit area was "dented".

If you get near La Conner you are welcome to come look at mine.....

Do you have a delivery date on your boat yet?? 🙂

I have the 9 1/2 foot RIB for a Ranger 29. Don’t have my specs but I know that it spozed to handle a 10 hp outboard. It is heavy.

Here's one I came across by accident: https://www.siroccomarine.com/new-item/ul-270/

Solid aluminum hull, 8'8" LOA, 16.5" hypalon tubes, 95 lbs, 4 person, 8 hp max, and sells for just over $3k. Has lifting eyes welded into the hull. I'm seriously considering one for myself.

not sure if your spec question was about doing a comparison to other models or just trying to determine fit but thought I'd share some other less known options

I went with a takacat 260 sport. super lightweight catamaran design. I can lift this onto the davits with one hand. fits 3 people. run with a 2.5hp. https://www.takacat.com/

if money was no object or I would be relying on a tender every day like living on a cruising boat I would absolutely get one of these:
https://octenders.co.nz/products-oc270/ (USD$4900)

ironically both NZ brands. they know a thing or two about boats downunder.

You can answer your questions at www.westmarine.com/RIB275. I have a brand new one I bought last year and never put it on my R25. Also have ALL the Weaver Davits stuff. Also the cover to protect Hypalon from UV damage. Price $3200 complete and the dinghy will be in Seattle area in mid May. Also have brand new Suzuki 6 hp 4-stroke. Never commissioned.
