Well, its official. We are excited and sad at the same time. The time has come for us to take advantage of an unforeseen opportunity and trade That's It (2008 R25 Classic) for a larger, non-Ranger model. Our "new to us" boat is a 38 foot 1988 Bayliner. That's It is going to her "retirement job" as a tender to an even larger boat (gin palace?) where she will be towed behind and used for fishing.

The downside to this very positive move for us, is that we will not be leading the Points North Cruise this summer, although we will see everyone when they come to Ganges. We will be in Desolation Sound when you all are finished the "formal" part of the cruise and hope to see all our friends, raft up and visit. Ranger Tugs, and the Tugnuts are very precious to us, and we treasure the friends we have made over the past 4 years and know that those friendships will transcend the fact that we do not currently own a Ranger!!

We will be giving Jeff all the information we have collected to date, and all the marina contacts etc. so that he can carry on with the arrangements for the trip. We will continue to visit Tugnuts to keep up with all the news, and will pass on any messages that may arrive with regard to Points North or the Rendezvous

Please know that this decision was in no way a reflection on Ranger Tugs, or our Tug friends, but simply an opportunity to move up to a boat on which we will be able to cruise more comfortably for longer periods of time . Watch for "Last Call" when you are cruising the waters of the PNW, because we will surely hail any Ranger Tug we see. And if you have time for a visit - we will have lots of room inside and out, and an icemaker!!!

Keep in touch, we love you all!!

Patrick & Gail:

I know you have both been hankering for a larger boat for some time, so this is fantastic for you, but sad for the rest of us as you've done such a good job of leading and caring for us on these annual Points North Cruises. You surely will be missed. My, my, 38-feet is a big boat for sure and will provide plenty of room. I will certainly be looking out for "Last Call" when we cruise around PNW. Please hail LAXEY if you see us as we would love to see you. I'm told (by you no less) that our Yellow bottom can be seen from 2 nm... Both of you take care.

Wow Patrick

This came as a shocker, I am sure you will enjoy the new ride, and thanks so much for all the support and leadership you have given to the group over the years.

Thanks for everything and looking forward to seeing you "up there" and stopping by for ice!

Good for you two! I am very happy you have this opportunity, and will certainly hope to connect with you out and about! It goes without saying that all the leadership you have given will be missed but most of all the two of you 🙂

Thank you very much for your patience and calm, Patrick, and for your kindness and all the various things you do online and behind the scenes, Gail :!:

You are wonderful leaders and models of goodness!

Yvonne and Fergus and I send congratulations to you on this BIG step. Of course, your friends will remain your friends and you will always be welcome with us as Tugnuts Emeriti. Many of us have much more confidence handling our own boats because of your help, patience and great sense of humor. Your constant help and attention have greatly enhanced the boating experiences of all of the Ranger Tug owners you have been in contact with and it will be hard to visualize the two of you in anything other than a Ranger Tug. Nonetheless, with all that new room, you will forever be the party boat. The organization that the two of you have provided all of us over the last years has allowed the great camaraderie of the Tuggers to flourish and I suspect that is going to be a whole lot of scrambling going on to try to replace the services that the two of you have provided -- when they realize all that you have done, they may all beg you to come back!!!

Keep us posted on the great new adventure.

Congratulations on your new boat, know you will enjoy the extra space on all of the cruising that you do. but, we will miss you here in the world of Ranger Tugs. You have done so much to enrich our boating experiences, and we are so grateful to you both. We will be looking for Last Call, especially when we are in Canadian waters. Hope to see you in Seattle!

Patrick and Gail,

What can I say other than we love you guys! I thought Christie and the kids were going to cry when I broke the news! (I will not admit to crying) We will miss you this summer on the cruise and at the Rendezvous. I really appreciate all of your help over the years organizing these events. I am sure our paths will cross sometime this summer. Congratulations on your new boat and new adventure.

Good cruising,

Jeff
