Does the Rockna Vulcan 15k anchor, which has more of a curve to its shank than the Rockna, fit on the roller of the Rangertug 29?

I ordered one a few weeks ago for my Cut28. Hopefully I will get to install it this weekend. Will let you know how it goes!

Thanks. I'll appreciate any feedback.

You can download a profile of the anchor. It is printed on 81/2 X 11. You tapes the pieces together. I've done a cut out of the 12 kg model and it looks like it will just fit. I want to take the Bruce off to confirm. The Vulcan specs suggest the 12 is adequate for a 5 - 6 ton (metric) boat and indicate their selection chart is conservative.

We put a 35 # Manson Supreme on our R27 and all that was required was a slightly taller bail. That's the bent hoop on top of the anchor roller. We don't use the slot on our Mansion as it won't retrieve with out some human help as it get hung under the roller coming up sometimes. With the shackle in the fixed position everything was peachy on the retrieve with the standard roller that came with the boat with a taller bail added..

Installed the Vulcan today. No go. Everything is fine except the chord thickness of the shaft is too tall so it won't dock the whole way.

It might be possible to have a smaller roller but instead I'm going to swap the Vulcan for the standard rocna as it has a straighter shaft and give it a go.

Not sure if this would be different on the tug. It all fits on the Cutwater it's just the top clearance coming into the opening of the bow above the roller that is too tight.

Besides that the Vulcan is a beautiful piece of engineering!

Could you possibly replace the safety bar at the most forward part of the anchor platform, as pointed out by Dave and or take the bolts off of the landing platform and extend it further out to facilitate the clearance problem? Either way you're ending up with a great anchor.

It's not the safety bar that's the issue: its actually hitting the boat. It's the distance from the roller to the top of the opening on the bow. The Vulcan is very thick in this direction. Looking at my templates of the rocna the shaft is not as thick.

A longer bow roller might do it. But that's a real pain to install compared to swapping to a rocna. (Hopefully)

ok tried the Rocna Rocna 15 on the Cutwater 28 this weekend. better than the Vulcan but it still doesn't fit properly.

I'm giving up and going with a Rocna 10.

I just bought and installed a Rockna 10, a 22 lb plow on my new CW28 LE. I fits perfectly. The shank bent the stainless steel entry hole on the top of the breastplate just a teeny weeny bit. You can't even see it.
The anchor looks good on the boat and I look forward to using it. I know it will set and hold much better than the dinky stock Lewmar anchor.
I would post a picture of it on this post but can't figure out how to do it! I'll try posting a couple pics in the photo section under Rockna.

interesting thanks for posting Kurt.

I have the same bent damage caused by the 15. in fact the 15 almost fits but causes the same bend. i'm surprised the 10 does this.

it really would be a beneficial feature if cutwater made that slot 1 inch taller or used a anchor roller that gave 1 inch more clearance. than both the Vulcan and Rocan 15's would fit as would likely other brands of 15kg anchors.
