roof box

We have a 27 inboard and when we begin long distance cruising we realize we will need a box for storage on the roof rack. What model is best in terms of profile, weight, etc?

If you use the Search option at the right side top of the page to search for"roof storage" there are multiple past threads that have covered this with some good information. The preferences seem to be the Yakima and/ or Thule but some have built their own.

We have a Yakima Deep Space 10 (60 x 23 x 16 inches) for our C-28 . On our R-25 Classic we used the Yakima RocketBox Pro 12. Not sure if RocketBox 12 (58 x 36 x 18 inches) still available.
On our C-28 you really don’t want a cargo box more than 30 inches wide if you are going to have a decent sized (300 to 400 watt) solar panel on the opposite side.
While the Deep Space isn’t sexy looking it has been quite functional. And it does not interfere with the radar like the RocketBox did.
PS: The Deep Space mounted directly onto the C-28’s sports rack with no modifications or issues.
