So, here's a new owner question...

If you keep the Ranger Tug on a lift, are there any special things to do upon returning to the water and starting the engine?

Wondering if water drains from the engine and generator engine onboard....

I keep my 31 on a lift. It has been said that the impellers will wear out more often and it was recommended to change them every year. A lot of the water drains out but not all however the impellers are probably dry. For me the advantages of a lift far outweigh the negatives and reduce maintenance costs. Some close the raw water valves to keep the water in while lifting. I leave mine open and just make sure I’m in the water good before starting the engine(s). I haven’t had any issues yet. I hope this helps.

We trailer our 25sc, which is similar to a lift with respect to this issue. Close the seacock before lifting. Keeps the water in the system. Open seacock after lowering into the water. Not a perfect solution, but has solved drying out the impeller.
