Searched past discussions but could not find mention of the prop shaft diameter size on the Volvo D3 R27. Am ordering a new prop nut and zinc and want to make sure of the size before hitting the order button! Am guessing 1.25" but.....Thanks.

My shaft is 1.250" with D3 220 hp

My D3 R27 Classic shaft diameter is 1.25”

Our R25 uses a size ‘D’ zinc. I would guess yours is similar. Usual imperial size zincs don’t fit our boat. This may be a previous owner mod, but you might check.

Thanks for the prompt reply guys. 1.250 it is. Now I can get replacement anodes ordered. After perusing this forum I've decided to go with aluminum rather than zinc. I'll be in salt water for a three or four months then trailer camping and fresh water so think the aluminum anodes will be best. We'll see.

I agree I use Aluminium in 50/50 application.

What about in fresh water?

I use aluminum in fresh water, Lake Michigan. The first year I used factory installed Zinc and all it did was oxidize and formed a coating ( did nothing) next year I went with aluminum. I feel comfortable with using aluminum in a salt water application too.
