Originally RT only offered the classic with a dual axle trailer and thats all I have seen running around. I am looking into potentially a new trailer purchase can order either a dual or tri. I don't see myself hauling the R27 more than two or three times a year to the lower sound. When doing so I'd be empty of water and low on fuel. I'd be within the limits of the trailer. Thoughts? Any classics running tri vs dual?

We have a Classic on a dual EZ Loader We only use it twice a year to put it in and then pull it out. We only travel 30 miles to the launch with no freeway speeds. Works fine for us.

I’m pretty sure many others have use the dual EZ Loader on cross country trips with the R27. Perhaps they will comment.

We trailer our classic 27 on the EZ loader dual axle from Spokane to Anacortes once/twice a year. We have had no problems other than a flat trailer tire this year 2 miles down a gravel mountain road from our house here in Spokane. I think it is 365 miles of mostly freeway after you get down our road. The boat on trailer was pretty intimidating the first few times, especially the launching, but this year we were okay. We usually have full water and half fuel. The trailer + boat fully loaded and ready to run is 9500 lbs and well within the trailer limits. However, when we bought the boat from Ranger Tugs they supplied a dual axle trailer that fit the newer 27OB. We had to readjust the bunks to fit the classic 27. A triple axel trailer would not have fit in our storage building.

My opinion, stay with dual axel. Going tri axel will be adding two more maintenance points. As long as the trailer is capable of the load you are good to go. Tires should be load range E of better. Go with endurance tires.
