2016 29S - Volvo Penta display has modules for rudder, water temperature, and more.

None of these are currently reading. Can they be programmed to read? Are they even currently connected to sensors?

Do we need to install sensors, wiring and programming?

Thanks,
Jim

you need sensors.
I added a traducer to transom for depth, temp., water speed.

What kind and where did you mount the transducer? Did you replace the factory transducer or did you run a parallel system? There are a few posts about the ineffectiveness of their arrangement. Do you have any pictures showing what you did?

Thank you

Garmin Triducer, replaced through hull unit.
Mounted on stern, starboard of prop tunnel on flat part.
Garmin pn 10-10192-01.
Also needed a 10-10715-00 extension cable.
Do not have picture as yard launched before I could get there.

As per the German transducer guide - the unit you described is not recommended for boats with in board motors, or ones with a stepped hull designs. This might be the reason they were anxious to get your vessel back in the water! I would check with Garmin and make sure you weren't sold something that will not perform as expected. I don't mean to bad mouth the yard or people that did this for you, I'm sure they were doing the work that was requested. However I would expect someone knowledgeable to let the customer know that what they are requesting is not what they can stand behind or would recommend.
Just my thoughts, by the way that unit has a price of about $125 not counting the extension cable.
