We plan to do a cross country tow with our 25
RT. Has anyone made a adapter to be able to use rv hoses connections to empty black tank at campgrounds? We will use a bucket and manifold system for sink and gray water, but how to empty holding tank if on the road a month to cross from WA to FL?

Hi Puffin1,

We have an added Y valve with a hose (white hose leaving to left of photo) and adaptor to use the macerator to pump the black water to an RV sewer connection. See photo below. An alternative solution is to just make a tight friction fit to your macerator through hull fitting similar to your grey water manifold. There is not much pressure so I think you could get a secure fit with a little effort and the right hose diameter.

That's what we do. I believe it's heater hose of approx 8' that I use and jam it in the macerator output throughhull. It's a tight fit and is not a very secure feeling but I hold it in place while my wife flips the switch. It has worked well for us. See this post for more opinions:

You also can use the shower hose or a bucket of water to provide the needed flushing water.

As far as the collected grey water, there is usually a sink for such or if not, I dump it in a flush toilet.

Curt, when at campgrounds what do you do with the grey water that you collect ?

I haven't actually used it camping. I use the y valve macerator discharge connection in my garage in the winter to flush the tank. I have a septic system connection in my garage for this as well as the grey water manifold connection.

I have an added Y valve with a 2 inch hose and cam lock quick connect couplings. About 15 ft of 2inch hose, hook the quick connect on in the boat at the Y valve run the other end to dump station and turn on macerator pump. This has worked well for us and our trips with our 25SC. About $100 total cost and purchased everything I needed on Amazon. I also use this method with routine use at home, I have and RV connection in my home driveway and just empty the tank as part of cleaning the boat after use.

I found a hose for a dishwasher fit nicely. For the grey water if you can find a nice bucket to fit the sink You can dump the grey water down your toilet and it all goes at once.. We use paper plates as much as possible and public washrooms. The truck stops usually have nice showers and washrooms and ample parking. They are a bit noisy but I do not feel bad running my portable generator there. If you get your fuel from the same brand all the time you usually get enough points for a free shower at night. I just find the truck stops pretty easy .. although plugging into power at night in a trailer park is comforting .You will have a nice trip across . Enjoy it 🙂
