I'm in the Ranger Tug "learning" mode in preparation for a purchase in the next year or so. I have a trip with a layover in Sacramento this weekend, Dec. 10-12. Are there any R25-29 Tugnuts in the area with the time and/or inclination to show me the ins and outs of their vessel? I will have a rental car.

I would be happy to show you our boat. We are down in the Bay Area (Richmond) and it would take you a little over an hour to get here. Unfortunately this weekend is already booked - tis the season. Next time an earlier heads up, if you want to go this far.

Another alternative would be a visit to Farallone Yachts in Alameda. They sell Ranger Tugs and probably have several new or used in stock. I would give them a call first. Alameda is farther south, with more traffic, so at least an hour and a half from Sacratomato.

Shoot. We have a 29cb in Pier 39 in San Francisco and would be happy to show it to you, but....

We are currently in St. Vincent and headed south in our chartered cat (forgive us fellow tug nuts for going back to our roots) to Grenada. A couple of the open water crossings between islands have been epic (25kts plus, 8-10' seas) and makes Georgia Straits look easy. Not friendly water for ranger tugs.

If you come by again, give a shout.

Thanks, guys. Lousy weather around these parts anyway.

The best solution would be a trip to the 2017 Seattle Boat Show (January 27th through February 4th), where you'll likely get to see one of everything Ranger Tug makes. And, meet some very friendly people.
