hi everyone. i would like to add satellite radio to our 2019 r23. what would be the best option to do this? it currently has the standard sound system which is pretty useless since we get no radio signals where we are.

Not sure which Chart plotter is on your 23. According to Garmin, to get XM services on your compatible device, an XM-capable receiver and antenna are required. Unless your device included an XM receiver/antenna, you will need to purchase these separately. Then you need a subscription to Sirius XM.

Cheers,

Bruce

Have you checked the back of your radio to make sure there is an antenna attached?
In the old days, RT didn't connect the antennas or if they did the antennas were coiled up into a useless ball. After connecting our antenna to the stereo and attaching the far end to the window frame, we now get clear FM signals from 40-60 miles away.

On my R-23 I connect my cellphone to the Fusion via Bluetooth and then listen to Pandora/Spotify etc. Cheaper alternative to installing an antenna and monthly subscription fee.

I've also found that the noise level while underway (85-95db) makes it nearly impossible to enjoy listening to music until we shut the engine down.

XM all in one, can stream XM from phone via Bluetooth to the sound system via the XM app.

YOLO upgraded the original (2010) Fusion radio system this past summer.

Where we already have SiriusXM subscriptions for the cars, we added a "marine" subscription and purchased the add on receiver (which includes the antenna). Install was easy and we just sit the antenna on top of the passenger side dash board. It's nice to get all the other content besides music. And it is a much cheaper option than satellite TV.

Could you link what hardware you purchased for the upgrade?

I have a 2012 Ranger w/ a Fusion radio & was able to get Sirius radio on it.
Just needed to give them a # from the radio.

With "XM All Access" I can link my cell phone XM app via bluetooth to the onboard tuner and play all the XM I want.
