Diesel inboard topic here.
I’ve mulled this off and on for the past decade. I see advantages and disadvantages of leaving the seacocks open to drain or closing them so they don’t drain to the seastrainer. I’m talking about taking the boat out of saltwater not freshwater.
For winterization the systems are flushed with freshwater and antifreeze so I think the answer for that situation is to keep the seacocks closed.
But what to do while the boat is on the trailer or lift for a couple of weeks?
