I have a 2013 Ranger Tug R-29 Classic whose searchlight (Jabsco model 63022) has ceased working. As the motor and controls still worked I purchased a replacement bulb for ~$60, but prior to installing it the direction controls ceased working. ChatGPT believes it’s the PC board that has failed—13v power gets TO the PC board but no workable voltage comes FROM the PC board. (I understand one can bypass the board to supply 13v power directly to the bulb, but that won’t address the control motor issue.). I have heard Jabsco is exiting the searchlight business and has not responded to my requests for parts, nor has Ranger Tugs. A marine supplier offers the motor and board for $368 + shipping.

Can anyone recommend a solution here for repair or replacement? Should I continue pursuing repair, or are there replacement solutions anyone can recommend?

Currently removing a Jabsco. Let me know what you want.

Thanks but I expect to be doing the same.

Wait. Is the bulb ok and does its PC board work?

I am not sure about board.
Bulb working

Replaced the Jabsco on my 2011 R27 with the 5 Oceans LED spotlight. It has a wifi remote. It's wired it into the existing wires, got rid of the corroded plug on the cabin and direct wired it through a clamshell. It has all the functionality of the Jabsco, as much light and less reflection off the bow rails/foredeck.

What’s your price for each? Where would you be shipping it from?

Shipped from Michigan 48048.
I will remove them this week

Here it is. Board, bulb, control.

i found out mine didn't work due to Mud Daubers! 40 shipped should do it. I don't need it on my shelf.

The spot light was in constant need of cleaning and reflected off the bow rail. The unit finally stopped working and I took it off. A high powered flashlight works a lot better.

Thank you for making it available. After thinking it over some more, I’ve decided to replace the spotlight with an LED upgrade.

If you don’t mind sharing what LED upgrade have you selected? I have 2013 R29 and am considering a mounted LED upgrade as well. Thx.

I haven’t chosen one yet, but since I definitely get 12-13 volts up at the current unit, I’m leaning toward one with a wireless remote. I’m afraid I have other higher priorities to focus on (AIS, Starlink, reupholstery, etc.) and we’re not launching until April or May. The searchlight should be fairly straightforward to replace.

Jared of Fluid Motion told me they now use the following (see link, below) and that they work great. I haven’t followed up on it yet.

Here is what we use now and works great.
