Seattle Opening Day of Boat Season

Does anyone ever go down to the SYC Opening Day festivities at Montlake and Lake Washington? I don't know it will be worth it or if it's just a madhouse of boats. We just put a deposit down on a Ranger R27/OB and we will be taking possession of it in March so it looked like a fun idea. I also noticed on the Seattle Yacht Club Parade of Boats application that they have a separate one for individual boats and "fleets". Anyone else thinking about it.

We have never signed up for dock zero or the parade but meandered through just to see the "madhouse" for ourselves. It is quite the spectacle.
