Second berth on 21EC

I thought other 21EC owners might be interested how we sleep one of our children, a friend or fishing buddy on our boat. We carry an extra ice box that fits between the engine box and the rear seat and is the same height as both. It sits on the rear step and has a rubber block for support. I have inserted a piece of bedding foam the same height as the foam seat on engine box and the rear seat. Results in a very comfortable bed 2.3m or 7.5 feet long. The width is not a problem since the top end where your head and shoulders rest is the back seat the width of the boat. Takes only minutes to set up and is covered by the Bimini. When not sleeping the ice box is extra storage and can sit next to the engine box or on the swim platform. Works a treat for us.

Great idea Fisho. We made a similar modification when “one” of us snores too loudly. It’s nice and cozy and I get to watch the sunrise.
