I have a Rocna 15 anchor and Mantus swivel on my C30CB. The setup has worked flawlessly since changing from the factory anchor. One thing i've been struggling with is how best to secure the anchor when not in use and relieve the tenson on the windlass. I tried the Mantus anchor bungee, but it's way to large/long and won't work with the cleat that is built into the bow spurt. What are y'all using?

I use the Mantus snubber and clip it directly onto the anchor, then up the pulpit / roller and tied off on the small cleat.

The problem in general is that there is a very short distance from the small cleat to the chain, but running on out to the anchor this way gives a longer run.

I worry slightly about the clip coming loose from the anchor but then it would just sag and catch on the windless with the couple of inches of loose chain. That's not enough worry for me to mess with a shackle instead of the clip.

I use a Davis shockless line grabbers(West Marine), that acts like a rolling hitch to create a bridle with short lines to the big bow cleats on each side to take tension off the rode.

This was the answer I was looking for! How do you remove it (in an easy way) before deploying the anchor? It seems like you'd have to lay on the bow and reach around and unclip it... 🙂

Right, that's exactly what I do -- reach over the pulpit and unclip it. (Steve's solution is another good one.)
