Unfortunately we need to sell our beautiful 2016 R-29CB. We have it priced at what I think is somewhat competitive and are negotiable but have not received a lot of serious interest. Most of the folks that have reached out have seen it listed either here on tugnuts or on craiglist. I listed it on boats.com and boattrader.com but neither of those websites have returned any useful leads.

Have people found that it really needs to be on yachtworld.com via a broker? What is a typical rate for a broker in this price range? Are there any brokers that specialize in used Rangers that I should reach out to?

Thanks for your help! We hope to get back on the water later in life...

Most brokers charge 10% I believe, that's certainly been my experience. That is a pretty high IMO for the services they perform, especially if the prime objective of signing a broker is to get on yachtworld.com . I suspect that there are cheaper ways to do that, but don't know what they are. Good luck with your sale, if you boat was on the other side of the Canadian border (and perhaps the other side of the country), I would probably be interested in it - it looks in impeccable condition. I would think brokers search the listings for their clients. Perhaps if there's no indication of a non-listing broker getting a commission, they pass it by. Are you showing a commission to selling broker anywhere in the listings.

Thanks for the replies. No I'm not currently indicating any kind of commission to selling broker, though I suppose I could add that. 10% definitely seems steep.

I would think that commission is split between listing and buying brokers. You might indicate that you are willing to pay the buyer's broker a commission if they bring a buyer.

I think the verbiage you might try use in your ad is "broker 5% cooperation". "Broker cooperation" used in real estate on FSBO properties typically indicated that the seller is willing to pay a commission to a buyers agent/broker for delivering a buyer. The key to selling is advertising and more is better!
When I sold my last boat it was through an ad on craigslist. I had craigslist ads going in every major market on the west coast.
