Interesting boating weekend.

Burned out the fuse to the stern thruster while maneuvering out of my slip in Lynn, MA.

Was adjusting my stuffing box while underway to a mooring in Marblehead Harbor and a wave knocked me off balance. Put my hand down to steady myself, but right on the turbo. Major burns to right palm.

Getting close to Marblehead Harbor and "Check Engine" light came on 3 times. We limped to the mooring. Luckily, my dealer and diesel mechanic was still in the office (Thank you Peter Haywood of Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem, MA). We talked for a bit. He asked me a few questions and said he would call me back. In less than 30 minutes, he called me back and he believed my issues were due to restricted fuel flow. He said he would stop by the mooring
the following morning (Saturday, Thank you Peter Haywood of Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem, MA). He ran a diagnostic, which confirmed it was something that had to do with restricted fuel flow. The evening before I had told him I was negligent in changing the fuel filters. The boat is 8 years old, bought new. I changed the secondary filter a couple of years ago. Never changed the primary filter. My bad. Both will now be changed every year and I will have a spare set on the boat. After changing the filters, he ran the diagnostic again. No error codes. The boat is running like new.

I won't even discuss my docking mishap.

If you are fortunate enough to live on the east coast of New England, Peter Haywood of Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem, MA is your Ranger Tugs dealer. He, his wife Diane and the rest of their shop are synonymous with customer service.

Thanks for posting this review.

I am looking at Winter Island Yacht Yard to have a generator installed in a 2012 Ranger 29 Tug and it is good to see the positive references they are receiving on TugNuts.
