I am having my bottom painted on my 2023 R25 in a few weeks. What services do you suggest while it is out of the water? I plan on having the lower unit of the Yamaha 250 serviced. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. On a side note, I had it painted at delivery by the company at the Des Moines Marina, and it faded faster than any other bottom paint on my previous boat. I'm not sure if they used two coats, but it surely should have lasted more than two summers in Santa Barbara.

Thanks in advance,

James

Do a visual inspection on the entire underside. Check the prop. Check the bow thruster is in good shape (don't recall if the 25 has one).

Generally easier to do the engine service when she's hauled out, so do your annual / 100hr. Get the zincs done in the engine AND trim tabs,

Examine the fasteners on the trim tabs. If the tabs do not have anodes, add them. Also check the fasteners, they may have missing heads. Several issues I've found when searching for our 27 are that not all dealers add tab anodes, and not everyone gets a good bond between the hull and epoxy/ primer coat. Had to have mine soda blasted, then epoxied, then bottom painted. Also, check your stern plug, remove, grease, replace, if you can.
