Hi - I recently purchased a 2012 Ranger R29 which I enjoy immensely. The air conditioners were working fine the first few days, but now only work when I run the generator. With shore power connected, the power distribution panel shows AC Mains 1 lit, but AC Mains 2 is not lit (air conditioner). Seems the 30AMP power is not getting to the distribution panel for AC Mains 2. Is there an breaker between the boats shore power connection and the distribution panel? If so, where is it located on this boat? Is that what is referred to the ELCI? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, John

On our 2015 R31-CB it is located behind the rear cockpit seat. Remove the table, fold the seat forward and there are two breakers on the stern.

John, On my 2012 R-27 there is a ELCI breaker in the cockpit hatch to the left of the gen. It is a black panel and that breaker may need to be reset. Good luck with that. Evan

Thanks for the info. On my 2012 R29, I found it in the cockpit storage cabinet under the stove next to the icemaker. Line 2 was indeed tripped. I also discovered that one of my 30 amp outlets on our dock pedestal is bad (which is what could have tripped the breaker on the boat in the first place). So I've got the boat connected with a Y splitter for now. We just got this boat last week and have not ran shore power from our dock to any boat since Hurricane Ian took our last boat. I surmise I need to get someone to look at the pedestal on the dock since it was under water during the hurricane 2 years ago. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks, John

John, You are correct. It all starts at the dock pedestal and work your way back through the boat systems. The ground channel is very important. Find a qualified marine electrician to check all your systems.
