Hi everyone,
We launched our 2018 R23 recently. At first we had no problems with shore power and ran the AC, microwave, etc.
Now all of a sudden the shore power pedestal breaker keeps tripping. It's fine if we only switch on the battery charger and outlets, but if I try to turn on the AC or run the microwave, it trips. Checked battery connections and the BUS panel, everything is tight. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Just a thought: I understand that sometimes breakers get weak and trip too easily. I have had to replace them in the house on rare occasion. Have you tried another power source on your dock to verify it is an issue with the boat?

Thanks S. Todd,
Yes, i tried another shore power outlet and had the same problem.

Have you tried a different cable?

We had a breaker at the pedestal start tripping and it turned our to be out A/C pump. Came to the conclusion after trying different pedestals, cables, and our generator.

Turn everything off and then put on one thing at a time. I would say start with the air conditioner and then the water heater.

Hi Stclairgal,

All the answers others here have provided to your question so far are good ones, especially that a defective breaker could also be the culprit. You will need to do a little more diagnosis. Start with the normal items first (power cord, shore power pedestal, a/c pump etc.) If none of the other items are found to be the causing your issue, then checking your breaker will most likely be the culprit. Since you mentioned that everything worked fine when you originally purchased the boat, incorrect wiring should not be an issue (unless any modifications were made since you purchased the boat) Hope this helps.

I agree with Ralf, however, if I understand correctly, corrosion in any part of the circuit (i.e. anywhere a wire is terminated) will reduce the amount of voltage going thru the wire and increase the amount of current to maintain the proper electrical draw the device needs. This increased current can trip your breaker. It may not be likely on a 2018 boat but, it is another issue to rule out in troubleshooting. Hope this helps. GF
