We have a 2106 Ranger R27 and after going out for a short cruise this weekend our shore power is not working. It was working fine until we came back and plugged in. I checked the pedestal and power cord both have power coming to the boat and the inverter is working. Anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong or what to check. Not sure if there is an in-line breaker?

Thanks,

You might want to check the ELCI. It's sort of a circuit interrupter for the whole boat. It usually looks like a breaker from the power panel. On the Cutwater its in the small cabinet under the oven. It could trip when you plug in.

The shore power cable for boats is a very old design, doesn't make wonderful contact. Might have caused the trip.

Does anyone know if the 2016 R27 came with a ELCI or GFCI and where it would be located?

Yes it came with an ELCI. It is on the aft wall of the port cockpit locker (the long step).

hi Beyond,

Yes, the ELCI is most likely the culprit. When you find it, you will most likely see that it has tripped. Depress the reset button, and make sure the switch is in the "on" position. Hopefully that clears it up. Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Ralf
