What is the recommended position for the shower door on a Cutwater 30, when shower is in use? Should it protect the head door, or be pulled all the way to the sink bulkhead to protect the commode, sink, etc.

Also, if the head door is to be exposed, when showering, and water is expected to impinge on it, should it leak into the stateroom? Mine does.

Thanks.

It sounds like you are using the shower the exact way we intended it. The only way to really stop the water from leaking through the door (it's an inside opening hinge so nearly impossible to seal completely) would be to install a shower curtain or minimize the amount of water being sprayed on the door. On my personal boat, I installed a shut off in the shower nozzle which really helped to direct the spray of the water. It has solved any issues I've had showering with water getting outside of the door.

Thank you,

Thanks Andrew,

I'm still not sure where the plexiglass door should be when using the shower. Please would you describe its location?

Thanks.

The plexiglass door had been very difficult to move. Turns out there were some lower guides for the plexiglass that were misfabricated. 1/4" had to be cut off the bottom of the doors to compensate. Works much better now.

Also, Cutwater supplied and installed a curtain between the outer door and plexiglass door to prevent the water from leaking out into the stateroom.
