Side windows stuck and will not open

I now have 2 side windows that will not open after pushing the tab in to allow it to unlock. I have tried a 'Dry Lubre with Teflon spray lubricant but has not helped.
Any other suggestions?

Might be a different mechanism but ours open when you pull the knob out towards you.
They then lock by pushing it in after being sure window is all the way closed.

On our boat if you slam a couple of the windows too hard they are a bugger to get back opened. The locking mechanism slides too far forward and catches on the frame on the outside of the window. Try pushing them open from the outside while someone inside holds the latch open. Or find a way to wedge the latch open of working by yourself. Last time it happened to me I had to drive a wedge between the window glass(outside) and the frame at the forward(i.e. opening end) of the window. I took a clothespin apart and used the two halves to wedge on either side of the window latch. If that makes any sense. Then simply went back in the cabin and the window opened like it's supposed to. Clothespin fell out when the window opened and lost it overboard 🙁

If I could figure out how to upload pics to my album again I'd take a shot and show what I'm describing. But for whatever reason when I try to upload pictures nowadays the system tells me it can't tell how big they are so no love.

Found solution to stuck sliding windows.
Push to tighten first then try to open.
Usually releases when tightened!

Yes for sure the first thing to try. We only have one that requires further measures.

The windows on my 2012 R27 were very tight when I first got the boat. Now after a run about in salt water (Long Island Sound) I wash the boat down with fresh water and make sure to blast around each window frame to get as much salt out as possible. Dried salt in the tracks and around the frame can make moving the glass quite difficult especially to open as you only have that little lip on the lock/latch to pull back on. When dry I lubricate the tracks with a Q-Tip dipped in vaseline early in the season. It makes movement much easier although still on the tight side. I'm also careful to hose down the windshield wipers too as salt seems to accumulate inside the wiper blades too. GF

I have used a plastic putty knife to go between window and frame to break the dried salt that is binding the window.

But now, after each use, I do a good rinse of the bottom of each window and then open and close them after the wash. Takes away the problem.

I had stuck windows, and after getting them open and cleaning the seals, I treated with MaryKate Liquid Rollers and have never had an issue since (It was recommended to me).

One of mine was a monster sticker - read this thread and got my 11 year old grandson to push the lever inside - I was on the outside with a suction cup gizmo for holding onto the hull when cleaning and it worked like a charm!!!!!

My windows only stick when they are exposed to direct sunlight and get hot. I'll typically have one that doesn't open on the sunny side and the other side works fine. In those cases, I have to walk around the gunwales since I have fenders mid ship on both sides. After running the boat and taking the direct sun away from the stuck window, it usually opens.

When I need to get one open in a hurry, I press, gently but firmly, all around the edges of the window and it will then open 80% of the time. Bottom line for me is that I can live with a stuck window that will open if I'm patient.

Had the same problem on our 2021 R-31 CB. Learned to close the windows gently so they don’t get stuck. To free a stuck window get one of those suction cup handles used by glass window installers. Release the latch and give the window a good tug. I keep one in my toolkit. Hope this helps!
