sitting on the mud

Last week we had an extremely low tide on the upper Chesapeake and my slip ran out of water...my r 25 was sitting on the mud. I don't think it would cause any damage, but i also seem to remember that there is not much of a skeg on the boat. This is a very unusual happening.

Island Ranger has sat on the bottom a couple of times. I only worried about mud getting into the raw water intake.Don't try to run the engine, or head, or wash down pump when you are there....and check that it doesn't get plugged when you float back up.

I think the skeg is big enough to protect rudder & prop from hard bottom gentle groundings...

Tom, we've had some low tides in the lower Chesapeake area too. My sailboat keel is frequently in the mud next to the pier, we keep it on mooring whips to keep it away from the pier and when that happens, we can't pull it alongside. Whenever we have an extended Southerly wind that will happen.
