Still getting to know my new-to-me 2016 R27.

I know how to reset the Garmin system after I fill up to reflect fuel used/left. It seems to work well

The Volvo engine display reads a totally different fuel level. Do I also need to reset that after every fill-up?

I assume both these fuel levels are based on reset-to-full then fuel burn rate, right?

Is there an actual fuel level measuring device in or on the tank itself? Where/how do I read that fuel level?

Thanks all.

On our 2014 R27 there is no need to reset or do anything to the Volvo gauge. It only reads accurate when we are at a standstill in calm water. I ignore it when under way as the bow rise messes up the reading. The Volvo gauge (when level and standing still) is actually more accurate than the Garmin (based on a fuel flow meter). The Garmin overestimates the fuel used on our boat by about 10%. I like this because it means we always have about 10% more fuel than indicated which is a nice safety factor especially since it doesn’t measure the fuel used by the Webasto heater.

Thanks Curt. So does the Volvo gauge report an actual fuel level mechanism in/on the tank as opposed to a calculated fuel level?

Mine is the same. The Garmin seems to err on the side of caution and is off by around 10%.
