I recently purchased a 2011 R-29. Shortly after purchase stern thruster stopped working in one direction and then both directions. Repair tech believes problem is in "console" or connections in the sliding helm console which also houses the throttle wiring. However wiring in console is not accessible without gaining access and there is no apparent way to get in to the console. What are we missing?

Hello,

You will need to remove the thruster joystick and gain access to the wiring. If you cannot reach the wiring you can remove the refrigerator on this model to gain access. Once you gain access, you can follow the thruster troubleshooting online guide that we have posted in the technical bulletin section to figure out whether it is wiring or thruster related issues.

Thank you,

Before you go crazy make sure the tech followed the recommended troubleshooting procedures. You can get them on line if you do not have them.

Thanks Andrew and Knotflying for the info. Will continue the repair next trip to the boat.
