What is everyone typically getting for a R25 with a diesel? I found a marina I like with a 28ft covered slip and they appear to allow for some stick out, but they would charge extra. The R25 from what I have read is about 28ft 6in. I will definitely be checking with the marina, but I would imagine you may not want the boat really tight from the bow to the dock in front of it.

I am pretty new to powerboats, my only experience is with sailboats in the Seattle Sailing club. I was likely going to purchase a Ranger this winter.

We have a R25SC and keep it at the MCRD Marina here in San Diego. All slips here are 30 ft. With the dingy in the davits and the bow pulled within 6 inches of the pier we are just beyond the end of the 30 foot finger.
Without the dingy we are inside the 30 feet. They don't charge any extra for the 1 foot over so we are golden.

2008 R25 classic and I’m 28’6” per my marina official measuring tape.

What size slip are you in? Seems like most marinas will allow some stick out. I was asking because there seems to be more 28ft slips around, anything longer is a lot harder to find near Seattle.

Most marinas will allow up to 3 feet over.
However marina math comes into play.
Put a 25 foot boat in a 30 foot slip you pay for the 30 feet.
Put a 33 foot boat in a 30 foot slip you pay for the 33 feet.

I’m in a 30ft slip and it seems perfect. I’m in SE Alaska however so I can’t offer advice looking for a slip down south. Last time I had a slip in Puget Sound, it was a 50ft down at the Port of Everett.
