On the R25SC the factory put a 12 volt lighter plug into the cockpit storage compartment on port side, (where power switches are). This was intended for a Norcold? freezer that I believe just fit. The question is did anyone get this freezer for their boat and are they happy with it. Thinking about this option if feedback is good or exists at all.

Thanks

We ordered this freezer from the factory and used it on our 31. It worked great. When full of frozen food it maintained temperature with minimal battery draw. If there was extra room I usually froze water bottles to maintain temp and keep it cold even if we wanted to shut it down some when off shore power.

We ordered a Norcold last year and used on our Broken Group trip on the west coast.

We found it maintained both the freezing temperature or the cooling temperature when selected. few products have this option. Bring the unit up to temperature when on shore power and you will find it very energy efficient after that.

Thanks for your response from the bigger boats. I was hoping for a response from an R25SC. I am not sure if you guys in the bigger boats are using the same unit as the little one that tucks into the port side storage on R25. If you have a model number for yours I could check it out. I am a little worried about the longevity of the units as on the internet some of them have mixed reviews.
