SoftClose toilet seat/lid ?

Have you ever been annoyed/alarmed by a slamming toilet seat/lid noise when underway on the boat ? I have as my grandchildren seem to take great delight in making the slamming noise and I find it's really distracting to the point I wonder if the engine was having an issue or that I may have hit a floating hidden dead-head plus my Fox Terriers get very alarmed/startled by the noise.

I've had the same issue in our house that has three toilets. The slamming noise makes our Fox Terriers howl like wolves. :lol:

I've replaced all our Toto house toilets with the Toto SoftClose toilet seat/lids and the slamming noises are no longer.

Barry, if you can't find a soft close for head in your tug, maybe try one of these. Tell the kids it will hurt the starfish if they let it fall too hard. 😉

:lol: Is that a Gel filled seat/lid... if so that would work very well. Funny... but what the heck if it works, and it doesn't have Dinosaurs on it. 😉

The R27 I have has a soft close toilet lid....but who cares.

Barry, I think the starfish seat is some kind of cast hard plastic, not gel. Too bad . . .

Not to worry... found a nice one at Home Depot for $17 which turned out to be less weight than the existing one. For my electric flush Thetford Tecma EasyFit Eco Marine Head it was perfect width-wise but a tad longer... but actually it's more comfortable to sit on, and since it protrudes about 1/2" beyond the front edge of the bowl it's easier to grab & lift. 😀 Home Depot said I could return it so long as I didn't sit on it. :lol:
