Our boat is shrink-wrapped for the winter. I'm planning on disconnecting the batteries soon after a final top-off charge. Should the solar panel be disconnected (how? A fuse somewhere?). If so, should it be disconnected prior to or after disconnecting the batteries?

The single panel install in the Cutwater does not have a breaker or fuse between the panel and controller. I'm basing this statement on 2016 models. Maybe newer models do or may be some do or some don't depends on the day it was built😀! Single panel installs do not require a fuse but it is IMO a good Idea to have a double pole breaker of an inline fuse installed between the panel and the controller to turn the panels off when working on the batteries, wiring or controller between the panels and the battery. There should be a fuse between the battery and the controller to protect the wiring and the controller from the high amp capability of the battery. When the boat is shrink-wrapped that should block any sun from the panel so the panels will not produce energy. If it is not shrunk wrapped when you are disconnecting the batteries and you want do make sure that there is no energy coming from the panels just cover them with a towel or tarp. If it were my boat I would install a fuse or double pole breaker. 10 or 15 amp. not required but it is a good practice.
