Sonar... again

in case anyone is interested in the this install - I mustered the courage last night to glue on the cup.

using the angle app from the apple appstore I could tell the angle of the hull in this location is 25 degrees so went with the max 22 degree angle markings - I dont have a manual inclinometer. test fitted the location to make sure I can get the sensor in the cup with the floor overhang in the way.
then
cleaned
sanded
acetone wiped
then liberal use of 4200 quick cure to mount the cup.
pushed down and then applied extra to overalap the lip of the cup and ensure a strong and watertight seal.
its not pretty but doesnt need to be.

4200 should cure in 24 hours
will test this weekend to see if this is sturdy and watertight before installing the sensor

pretty happy with the performance with the cup filled with glycol. so much better than the factory glued on install. I put this down to
1. better angle alignment with the hull
2. better sound contact with the hull

I now have both 50 and 200Hz feedback! only had 200hz working before and I just assumed my transducer didnt provider 50!

the transducer managed to hold onto the bottom down to 700-800 feet. im impressed. - also dont drop your keys over board in the puget sound!
On the 50hz I can see fish arches very clearly. I guess I have not driven over the fish more directly to see them on the 200hz as the cone is narrower.
