I’ve lost all Sonar reading. It had been working, then went to showing 7.4’ regardless of bottom depth, thought I might have been dragging seaweed. Now I have no reading, I think the fuse is in the head behind mirror although not marked . Changed 3amp fuse fuse, still no depth , any thoughts?

Thanks
Joe

Joe:
Try going into the sonar window. I had a similar problem and opened up the sonar window and it reset the transducer. Hope it works for you.

If not that, check the fluid level in your transducer cup, if the fluid leaks out it will do that also.

Where is that located and what type of fluid?

Thanks

Go through your bilges staring in the bow end. You are looking for a black plastic cylinder about 4" tall with a top that either screws off or needs screws removed. It should be somewhat full with RV antifreeze, although I have heard that some folks use mi real oil. If it's pink it's rv antifreeze. I use a squeeze bottle as it is hard to access with a gallon jug. Fill it, put the cap back on, and you should be good.

On the R31cb it’s located starboard side aft bulge just outboard of the genset. I would not use oil, water is fine but to keep from freezing in winter antifreeze is better, the type for your water system not engine.

Yes found it in the rear bilge below the rear thruster. Opened top and filled antifreeze.

Yes. That did the trick. Will keep a watch to see if it leaks .
