Going tomorrow to put down the deposit on a new 2018 Ranger R27. Sale to be completed the week of February 19th.

It has been a long agonizing, hand wringing, lengthy discussions process. Ranger Tugs were always at the top of the list. Some others manufacturers were also way up there. But in the end the value for what we got is what made our decision.

The long agonizing part was not about a Ranger Tug, it was about buying a boat. We have been debating it for five years plus plus , We have attended boat shows in Palm Beach, Savannah, Milwaukee, Stuart along with casual marina visits. This last show in Milwaukee did it. Fish or cut bait.......

Going to based in Racine WI

Can't wait for the Christening April/May time frame.

Congrats on your new boat! You won’t regret it!

Congratulation on the new Tug.We are also Racine boaters. This will be our third year at Reef Point Marina. Its like going on vacation every weekend. We will have to have Docktales some time.

Congratulations on your new Tug!!! We have a new 2018 RT 31CB and are so glad we took possession in late October!! It has given us time to get out in it a bit, before the rest of everybody is out on the water! Also getting it outfitted the way we want it, not to mention we are new to boating, period!! I would highly recommend using your phone to record the factory delivery experience, if you got it. We refer to those videos a LOT!! I downloaded them to the comp and we watch a lot at home! Also I would, (as was recommended to us) recommend sleeping on it before your first trip, to get an idea of what you want on there!! So happy for you - enjoy the ride!!!

Excellent suggestion

CONGRATULATIONS!
Having had over 14 boats with the last being a 32' Marinette we have learned one thing. Putting aside all of the mandatory equipment, we have always seemed to over pack the boat over time. At times we took so much that loading and unloading became a chore and seemed to take the fun and spontaneity out of our 2,3, or 4 day trips. We always had clothes we never wore, food left over, and too many boat shoes. Depending on your own personal tastes, the ranger tugs squeeze multi funcational ideas into their boats. For us, we decided to do the same and are making a game out of being minimalists as we pack the tug for those 2,3,and 4 day trips. Whatever your taste ....... more or less ......... enjoy the toy!

CAUTION: NEVER SHORT YOURSELF OF YOUR FAVORITE DOCKTAIL INGREDIENTS!

Congratulations on your new purchase. I've always had sailboats, buying a tug was a 2-3 year process. The decision to drop the sail and start the engine was difficult. Last summer I found a great used R27 so I pulled the trigger. My boat is in Sturgeon Bay, WI and only had a few weeks of use last summer. Looking forward to cruising Lake Michigan next summer.

Deals Done! All paperwork finished, Paid for, just waiting for Coast Guard info and misc paperwork copies. Can't wait!!!!! So far we have really really really been pleased with Reed Yacht Sale in Racine WI (can I name names??) about the whole process thus far. Still have to take delivery once the ice goes out, and then go thru the delivery process. But based on what we have been thru so far I am confident all will go well.

Going to have a Christening in late April/early May, with a prayer to Neptune and share a bit of Champagne. Also going to add to the ceremony a bit of Madeira wine. The USS Constitution was Christened with Madeira. She has lasted a good long time so it can't hurt.

Any Christening speeches anyone can recommend?

Cheers!!
