Greetings Tugnuts:

Our Ranger 27 Classic, Trilogy, just completed its winter cruise. This was a two part boat trip. The first part was 22 days from the Florida Tug Rendezvous at Burnt Store Marina to Dunedin. Then, we trailered the tug 150 miles to Brunswick, GA for nearly a 400 mile trip over 14 days to Southport, North Carolina. We loved the cruising and the cities of Savannah and Charleston.

The Atlantic ICW was very quiet with very few boats. Marinas were open there was ample space. Yes, the temperatures were Seattle-like with highs in the mid 60's but we loved it. Boating is an acceptable to shelter in place during these times.

Below is a link to our website with photos and descriptions of the tug and all the trips.

We have had this 2012 tug for 36 months. In that time we have cruised for 180 days, did 4,000 miles and put 500 hours on the Yanmar 180 engine. We are thinking of a summer cruise on Lake Superior before taking the tug back to Seattle.

Thanks for posting your adventures John and Lauri. If you’ll be exploring storage options in Northern Michigan I can make a few suggestions.

Thank you John and Laurie for posting your Southeast Cruising Trip, which is so minutely fact filled concerning the operation of your Ranger 27. A fantastic job. It should be published.

Thank You for the kind words because I really have no idea what happens with the information or if it was helpful.

I did these three websites (laurieann-ranger25.com, andiamo-ranger29.com, and tribute-kadeykrogen39.com) to help inspire other boaters to find their adventure in their boats. Also, doing the writing and constructing the websites continues to be an extension of our boating experiences.

I working to take these intentions to the next level. Laurie and I have offered a two-day workshop, Comfortable Cruising On Smaller Boats, which was really well received. When this virus business is behind us, we want to offer those in the future. Also, since attaining my Coast Guard Captain's license, I really enjoy doing hands-on teaching for cruising couples,

Hello, I’m sorta stuck in the Bahamas, by my own volition, but figure it’s a “float in place” safer than in more populated areas. I’ve been cruising here since November from West Palm Beach through the Abacos down to George Town, Exuma, am now in Spanish Wells heading back to Abacos then home as the virus subsides. Depending on timing and borders my next adventure will be cruising down the St. Lawrence around to Maine this summer. I just offer this idea as another thought for exploring unless your thinking that Trilogy needs a good fresh water rinse before heading to Seattle.
I would encourage all to just “do it”. Life is not a dress rehearsal ; go small, go now!

John & Laurie:

I just second the kudos, having read through all of it. Well done, and helpful.
