I have an 2010 R29 w a Yanmar 6by3 260 engine, and would like to adjust/tune up the shift/throttle lever control. It does not stay in one position well, is very touchy, and requires too much attention. Is there any manual information you might point me to, so I can make it happy again. I cannot find out anything online re: manufacturer, replacement parts, etc., and am

Could you tell me who the manufacturer is? What the model/part # is, and whether there are any upgrades/replacements available that are good alternatives, if I cannot fix my current lever.

These shifting/throttle systems usually have two adjustments available, one to address the cable stretching as it ages and the other to increase the friction within the mechanism at the handle.

The friction adjustment is at the pivot point of the handle and is a nut you can tighten hopefully making the handle a bit harder to move and causing it to take and hold your throttle inputs.

Think of the seath/cable as two parts keeping in mind the seath must not move in order to transmit cable input crisply.

The seath is held by a collar at both ends and likely you can turn these collars to increase the overall distance the seath/cable runs thereby taking any slop out of the seath.

Finally, these seath/cable systems are often tied down here and there to keep the seath from moving around and absorbing cable inputs so have someone manipulate the throttle while you watch the seath wherever you can lay an eye on it.

You might want to check out UFLEX-USA they are out of Florida that is what is used on my 2009
You can check out there models and determine which one is on your boat and then look up on the specs and replacement parts - good luck

I have the same boat and I am guessing the same throttle control. It too became loose and would not hold position. Remove the cover for the throttle. Looking down at the pivot point near the throttle lever side is a small Allen head screw facing straight up. Tighten it while moving the throttle back and forth to get your desired tension. Put the cover back on. Celebrate with a beer.

Good Luck, Leon
