I've read as many threads as I could find about the reflection problems of the spotlight on the rails and bow of the boat. Besides the tin can tunnel and taping or painting the rails does anyone have any real experience with moving the light up to the platform above the Radar where the GPS puck is? Does anyone have it mounted up there and does it help with the reflection problem. I have the opportunity to move it as I am removing the GPS puck from that location. If it makes an improvement but still causes some reflection next step would be to change the bulb (Par46) to a single narrow beam LED. Of course I would loose the duel beam functionality but I'm OK with that.

I moved the spotlight on my 2012 R27 to the mast above the radome. The radome does shadow the bow some, but does not completely solve the problem. A baffle to focus the beam (the can mentioned in one thread) is the only effective solution.

Thanks! That's the info I was looking for, from someone who actually did it.

I have seen spotlights mounted on the nose of the bow rail. Seems like this would eliminate the reflection problem. It might introduce other problems though (like being in the way when catching or releasing a mooring buoy). Has anyone had experience with this?
